As a homeowner for 30 years in Tucson,
I believe Tom Chartrand is the professional you have always hoped to work with.
This, I/we discovered as we experienced the gutting and remodeling of our 30 year old, very large bathroom. Out went the huge dated Florida tub and separate shower room and in went new flooring, cabinets, and a stunning partially glass-enclosed walk-in shower which reveals tiling accented with beautiful tiles which are carried over into the former shower/toilet room. Also included were two new wider doors as well as a wider pocket door.

Working with Tom was easy and worry free. Tom did three fantastic and beautiful projects for us. He completely tore out our bathroom and designed a bathroom that exceeded our expectations. He also removed a window in our kitchen nook and put in a beautiful sliding door that looks out onto the wonderful deck Tom helped design and build for us. He made a virtually unused space in our house into an open, bright, incredibly enjoyed gathering space. Adding the deck was like adding a new room to the house, it is really wonderful! We worked with Tom on a major remodel of our 1970’s house on Vashon Island WA. It was taken down to the studs and we moved rooms around to change the look and function of the home. Prior to purchasing our home in Portland, Oregon, my partner and I hired Tom Chartrand to do the house inspection. His written report was very extensive and he went over every detail with us, specifying what needed to be done right away and what could wait. With that brief experience working with him we felt confident to hire him to do the renovation that we wanted done to the house.
Before moving in, we wanted the master bath completely gutted and remodeled; the hall bath updated; the kitchen renovated with refinished cabinetry, new granite counter tops and backsplash, custom tile work behind the stove, new appliances and new lighting; and new hardwood floors throughout the entire house. Tom worked with us to transform our ideas within our budget and schedule. He took complete responsibility for hiring sub-contractors and for managing their work.
All the work was of high quality. Tom kept within our budget and we were able to move in by the target date. Throughout the course of the project, he was readily available to us for any questions or concerns we had, and he was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. My partner and I strongly recommend Tom to anyone planning renovation work in their home. When Tom left Portland after the project’s completion, it was Portland's loss and Tucson’s gain.

We’ve hired Tom twice for major remodels, plus a rebuild of a home office. What strikes me about Tom is that he’s got the yin and yang of contracting down pat. On one hand, he’s an excellent craftsman. He does fine work, with great attention to detail. On the other hand, he’s a terrific businessperson.
That means at least a few things.
